Economic Development

Economic development is a key to the health of our region and Delmarva Power supports programs in all four of the states we serve - Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia. Because Delmarva Power's territory is so expansive, we participate in economic development programs on a "grassroots" level, by maintaining partnering relationships with regional, state, and local organizations.

The mid-Atlantic region offers businesses access to some of the most lucrative markets in the United States. Population growth and development in all four states Delmarva Power serves continues at an accelerated pace, ensuring a diverse and flexible pool of customers and employees.

Companies settling in our territory will find that the region offers a unique quality of life not available in many sectors. Transportation systems and major roads are convenient to most of the company's territory, providing easy access to major metropolitan centers like New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. Despite the proximity of these big city neighbors, the cost of living throughout the region is relatively low. Combined with a rich cultural landscape, these factors make the area an ideal setting in which to live and work.

Delmarva Power provides safe, reliable, and affordable regulated electric delivery service to more than one million customers across its territory and natural gas delivery service to over 100,000 customers in New Castle County, Delaware. Delmarva Power supports Electric Choice, which has been enacted in all four states of our territory.
